A very unique vessel ready for her next owner. This Jay R. Benford designed "Friday Island Ferry" was custom built by her owner over the course of many years (2014-2021). Marine professionals aided in the installation of the the onboard electrical systems and inboard diesel propulsion engine conforming to ABYC standards.
This vessel was constructed utilizing the strip planking method with white cedar double diagonal planking covered with two layers of five-ounce cloth below the warterline, and one layer of five-ounce cloth above the waterline. The decks are made of fiberglass combined with core material.
